Holla! Its Feb 14

 

Every February 14, across the globe, gifts are exchanged between loved ones, all in the name of St. Valentine. But little is known about this saint, and where the traditions came from.

Nonetheless, whatever the story or origin of this tradition might have been, the most important thing is that love is shared.

Love is a beautiful thing; it takes a great and dazzling heart to love. In a world full of selfishness and hate, to love and be loved is heart-warming. Today show a little love to someone, you don’t necessary have to break your bank account to show you care. As the old and popular saying goes, “action speaks louder than voice”, tell someone how much you care, smile, laugh, tell a joke, hug, go out for lunch and you be surprised how much your little show of love can make the world go round for someone.

And remember today, as you go out expressing your love, remember to protect your hearing so you can continue to enjoy more lovers day to come.

Google is rolling out the new feature over the next few days in English in the U.S. to make it easier to get a more accurate list of health conditions that could be causing your symptoms. Ask Google about a symptom, say "headache on the side," it will show you a list of related conditions such as migraine, tension headache or sinusitis. Ask about "headache," and you'll get an overview of the health conditions plus information on how to treat the headache and whether you should see a doctor.

Nigeria at 65- A Compromised Hearing In Defense Of Liberty- by Promise Ebuka S ometimes last year I met a young man who is a captain in the Nigeria army and had just returned back from Borno state where they were for months battling insurgence against the Nigeria government. He was referred to my office for audiological evaluation after complaints of loss of hearing and tinnitus in both ears. Tinnitus is a persistent sound in one or both ears. The sound does not come from an external source and is perceived only by the person hearing it and it’s often experienced as a high-pitched hiss, ring, or buzz. After several batteries of test, I was able to confirm he has moderate to severe hearing loss in both ears which was also accompanied by tinnitus. Obviously he would have to l iv e the rest of his life wearing a hearing aid. He felt so bad about the news, though I counseled him and encouraged him that with hearing aids he could still enjoy the good sound of life. T
